On Saturday, Feb. 9, the Middle School Science Olympiad team competed against 35 other schools from across the county. The San Diego Regional Science Olympiad Tournament took place at Carlsbad High School and had more than 110 middle school teams competing in 23 different science events including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.

Parker sent two teams with a total of 24 students. Six phenomenal students placed. Natalia Wornotvitzky and Apaara Chawla, both Class of 2023, placed third in the experimental design event. Annika Baumgartner and Sanjana Kumar, both Class of 2024, placed fourth in the heredity event. Sanjana Kumar, placed again, with Alexa Ortiz, Class of 2023, in 10th place in the potions and poisons event.
