Parker’s Upper School robotics team, the W.A.R. Lords  (We Are Robot Lords) won the Engineering Inspiration Award for the fourth time. The team received the award at the San Diego Regional FIRST California Robotics competition on Saturday, March 9. Sponsored by NASA, this award automatically qualifies them to advance to the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas this April.

The Engineering Inspiration Award seeks to celebrate a team’s success in advancing respect and appreciation for the field of engineering within a team’s school and community. For the W.A.R. Lords, sharing their passion for engineering is at the heart of what they do. Every summer and throughout the school year, the robotics students dedicate their time to visiting schools and holding workshops around San Diego County to educate and pass on the excitement of engineering to the younger generation.

Last season, the team won the Inspirational Award, the Chairman’s Award, the Gracious Professional Award, and the Safety Award. Before heading to the Championships, the team will make a stop to compete in the FIRST Robotics 2019 Las Vegas Regional competition at the end of March.
