“We have the opportunity to make a big impact for the future,” Director of Community Engagement Kevin Dunn says to a group of roughly 50 Upper School students outside the weight room.
The students––and a few faculty––are gathered together to participate in the annual AIDS Walk around Parker’s Linda Vista Campus. The School has held the annual event each September on Campus since the early 1990s, says Kevin prior to the walk, which coincides with the AIDS Walk & Run San Diego and supports the San Diego LGBT Center.
“HIV still affects 43,000 people in San Diego,” Kevin says to the crowd through a mobile PA. “It affects adults, as well as their children. We walk in solidarity with those with AIDS. Thank you.”
