“Look at the wavy line,” says Director of College Counseling Julio Mata, directing Upper School students’ attention to the basketball court in the Fieldhouse. “People have a lot of different experiences in college. And if you are First Generation, the path may be a little different, but the most important thing is the outcome.”
On Nov. 16, College Counseling and the Office of DEIB teamed up for a visual activity during Advisory. Faculty and staff participated in a “Cross the line” activity to highlight the differences and similarities that first-gen students have in college with non-first-gen students.
