Thanksgiving is still a couple of weeks away, but Kerry Parish-Philp’s Grade 3 class is already full of gratitude. The class created an autumn-themed poster to offer their appreciation for the hard work of Parker Nurse Maggie West and Mike Cain, Director of Security, Environmental Health and Safety.

“3P is Thankful for Nurse Maggie and Mr. Cain,” reads the poster, which also features a tree adorned with leaves that each students decorated with color and their own messages.

“Gratitude is an action word; it’s neat to see that our 3rd graders understand that at such an early age,” says Mike.

“The comments make it apparent that these kiddos realize COVID isn’t over and we keep up on protocols to maximize in-person instruction for each student.”

The poster from 3P is part of a larger project from the Lower School Student Council. Each class is making a poster for someone in the Lower School community to show love and gratitude for their contributions and support to the community.

“3P students were so happy to celebrate all the wonderful work of Nurse Maggie and Mike Cain, especially this year,” says Kerry. “There was so much love and appreciation flowing from their pencils. They are especially grateful for all our Dynamic Duo has done in support of our health and safety during this time of COVID to help us be back on campus in person safely with our friends and teachers.”
