Director of Athletics Dr. Mahina Hannemann-Gago selected Erick Threets as Parker’s new Head Varsity Baseball Coach.
Erick has been involved in baseball professionally since he was 18 years old. Seven years ago, he ended his professional career and immediately went into professional scouting and coaching.
Before coming to Parker, he worked as a Pitching Coordinator for Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros and as the pitching coach for the South African National baseball team for the World Baseball Classic.
Erick has also worked previously at Parker as the pitching coach, but this will be Erick’s first year as head coach.
“My coaching philosophy is to create an empowering environment for coaches and players to reach their potential,” Erick says. “This is a determining factor for reaching your full potential in sport and life. Growth is a mindset that is nurtured through positivity.”
Through his many experiences with coaching baseball, Erick has learned many different philosophies and techniques. He plans to apply those principles to benefit Parker student-athletes.
Erick believes his most outstanding achievement as a coach is seeing his players advance to the college and professional levels. His goal for the Parker baseball team is to establish a Parker brand of baseball. As a first-year coach, he wants to excite the Parker baseball community with the team’s potential and wants the baseball program to be known for its development and competitive play.
Welcome Coach Erick Threets to the Lancer Legion!
