Grade 1 students engage in a marketplace activity in the Gillingham Family Courtyard on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. The students have been learning about economics in Social Studies and the value of money in Math. They discussed needs vs. wants, goods vs. services, producers vs. consumers, and supply vs. demand.
Their culminating project was to create their own ice cream sundae marketplace. The students wrote jingles in Music class, created signs in Art, and recorded advertisement commercials in Drama and Digital Design.
